We request a minimum 3 night's booking for our self-catering apartment. A scale of charges is in the box below.
We regret that our accommodation may not be suitable for some disabled persons, as not only is the apartment accessed via a set of external stairs, but there are two more separate steps inside the apartment.
The apartment is located on the first floor of Maison Villebard and has a private external staircase and entrance door. This door gives entry to a small hallway or landing with a comfy armchair, reading light and a mass of books to read. We supply several pairs of slip-on slippers for your use indoors, if you wish. To the right is the first bedroom, which has two single beds, a wardrobe and dressing table plus a chest of drawers. Further down the hallway you enter the kitchen/diner which is fully equipped with everything you should need for your stay. There is a gas cooker (with an electric grill set into the top of the oven), fridge/freezer, plus a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee filter machine. There is, of course, a table and chairs. The kitchen comes ready supplied with tea, coffee (both instant and filter), sugar and a litre of fresh milk for your arrival. You will find a large wicker picnic hamper plus a thermos flask!
Beyond the kitchen is the second, master bedroom which has a 6ft double divan bed which can split into two singles if required. There is a double wardrobe and an antique dressing table and a chest of drawers. This room has exposed beams, a velux window in the ceiling plus two windows at floor level.
We supply all bed linen plus hand and bath towels, tea towels, etc. included in the price. Each bed has two pillows and both rooms have extra blankets in case of a chilly night. This area of France is warm enough to have little lizards in the garden, so we also have electric fans for each room including, of course, the sitting room, in readiness of warm nights!
Opposite the master bedroom is the large shower room with, of course, a toilet and sink. We supply shampoos, shower gels and toilet rolls.
However, the best room is kept to last with a lovely spacious sitting room full of exposed beams and wooden flooring. This room is the full width of the house and has a view down the driveway across the valley plus more floor level windows set deep within the stone walls and it is equipped with big cosy leather sofas and chairs, coffee table, magazines plus a television with a basic Sky box and a DVD player. We have a lot of DVDs which you are welcome to borrow - a list of our modest collection is available! There is also a small stereo/CD player and, of course, free wifi is available throughout the apartment. There is an Information Folder that lists local supermarkets and their opening hours and other essential 'things you need to know'!
Outside there is a patio area for the use of guests with table and chairs and sun umbrella. A BBQ is also provided for your use. You are welcome to use the meadow at the back of the property where we have a small orchard, so feel free to stretch out on the grass under the shade of the trees.
Parking for motorcycles: The property is off the beaten track and our covered bike parking is very private, but we do have a lockable barn, if required. Wet biking gear can be hung in this covered area to drip dry, if necessary.
To book the apartment for up to 4 people, please contact us via our email (preferred - thepeglers@maisonvillebard.co.uk) or by telephone (0033 (0)5 55 47 35 71) and check that we have the dates available. Once this is established, we will book you in and ask for a deposit of €75, via our Paypal account. We will check if you have any additional requirements - perhaps some shopping for fresh produce for your first night, on the assumption that you may not arrive in time to shop. Please note that we always supply teabags, coffee (filter and instant) and a bottle of fresh (not UHT) milk plus sugar for your arrival.
Prices are for the whole apartment, not per person.
Payment of a €75 deposit, via our Paypal account* is due on our confirmation of your booking of the apartment. The balance is then due either 4 weeks prior to the date of your arrival, via Paypal again or in cash as euros on arrival, at our discretion. * see the Pricing Page for details.
Payments can be made below. You do not require an account with Paypal to use this secure method of payment - just your contact details and a card with which to pay. Please note that we cannot accept card payments any other way. It would help us if you can ensure that your last name, if not included in your email address, is included in the payment details.
*Please replace anything that you may use up during your stay or let us know that something has run out. Please do let us know if anything is broken so that we can replace it for your further use.
We request that all guests leave the apartment in the clean and tidy condition in which you will have found it on arrival. Please clean the kitchen and bathroom after each use and strip the beds before you depart. There is a linen basket for damp towels for you to use on your departure. Please do not leave wet towels or clothing on the beds or furniture, as a matter of course.
Our apartment is available from 1600hrs on your day of arrival and we request that guests depart by 1100hrs on their last morning.
